Oh hi, I'm Ann!
Here are a few things about me:
When I was two years old, my mom heard some noises in the middle of the night and thought there was an intruder in the house. It was just me getting a granny smith apple from the crisper at 3:00 in the morning. I like to eat. Here’s where I write about all the bomb things I stuff my face with to minimize eating at 3:00 in the morning.
My parents are originally from Laos. You’ll see some of what I call Lao soul food chili-peppered around this blog.
Growing up as an army-brat, I’ve lived in Germany, Hawaii, California, Louisiana, and Kansas, but now reside in Seattle. I’ve had the privilege of tasting many different regional cuisines, and, as a result, love me some laugencroissants, poke (in spite of having its trendy/commodified/beat-to-death moment rn), dirty rice, and salmon.
I used to cook professionally. Now it's just for kicks.
I’ve got a live-in taste tester and favorite person. His name is Per. It’s pronounced like the fruit. He fans the smoke detector when I burn stuff.
I hope you'll stick around. We're gonna eat good :)
